I got an angry text from one of our neighbors this morning telling me why didn’t I give her a heads up that the trash man where not coming today. To which I very triedly responded back they just came through less then 10 minutes ago. I don’t know why she thought I would tell her they where done coming.‘I know kI asked the community yesterday and I got one yes from some. So I rolled my stuff out before 7am like normal. It go picked up today like normal around 8am so they would miss school trafficking even though there is no traffic today.

Your neighbour should keep track of the trash people herself.

We don’t have a track system for it we get emails but we as none homeowner my husband and I I mean we don’t get those communities emails but she does since they own it. All I did was last night was ask if someone could confirm I’d they would be here this morning she saw and commented and someone said yes and I told her I had one yes so I assumed she was going to do her normal.

Ours are scheduled by our HOA not everyone has an HOA in the US but they talk to the rash company that they hire and they do most of the word and tell the residents when they come ours is Mondays and Thursday for trash collection, Mondays are for plant recycling and Thursday is for regular recycling. The only days that change might be holidays or bad weather

@ShyBear88 This is very absurd. Here in India trash collectors come from door to door to collect the trash.

Send her a text back saying she isn't paying you to babysit her trash for her.

I don’t know! Probably because I asked last night on our community FB group and one person said yes so I thought she was going to put her trash out like normal.

I realize that this is a stupid question, but when did you become responsible for alerting the neighbor to things like if the trash men are coming? The neighbor should have contacted the trash company on Friday to find out if they were going to be working today. If it would have been me, I would have contacted the trash company or if I wasn't able to do that, I would have put my trash out anyway. That way, if it wasn't picked up, I could have put it away for the next week or lucked out and had it picked up anyway. It's extremely easy to blame others for our own irresponsibility.

It’s not my responsibility it’s suppose to be our HOA but they are not always the best at sharing information since I’m not an owner I have to find out either from others in the community or when we actually get an email from them. We live in a HOA we do not have to talk to the trash people or the company ever because that is what the HOA people are paid for.

@BearArtistLady HOA runs our community with certain like trash removal, recycling removal, pool areas, common spaces for those like my family that live in town house, snow removal on the roads not the parking space or drive ways . It also cover certain community events like a fall festival for the kids and they gone the kids free small pumpkins. If she had asked last night like hey if you find out they are not coming can you text me I would have done so but I also want sure so I put my out in the hopes the other person was correct about them coming. She is is a home owner and gets those emails or her husband should st least get those emails if it’s not her.

@ShyBear88 That is the whole point, obviously her fingers are NOT broken as she could send you a text message (or I will add neither is her voice since some phones now will call people, do text messages and lots of other things for their owners.). She shouldn't have been chewing you out for not telling her about trash pickup. Your HOA kind of sounds like our caretakers of the apartment complex. They really aren't the best about taking care of things or informing us of important data or upcoming events. If this lady expects for you to keep her informed about things, even if it's just about whether the trash people are coming, I'd her that the cost of being her news service is $25 for each bit of information, including if the trash truck is coming on a holiday. The neighbor, like I said before, has a mouth and fingers. She can find out for herself; it isn't right to depend on a neighbor to drop everything and contact her just to let her know about the trash. It's past time that she realizes that you have a life and things to get done. I have a gentleman neighbor that I help out, but that is mostly because he is so crippled up from arthritis that he only occasionally goes out shopping. I don't mind doing things for him because he wouldn't dream of sending me a text message like you got, and if he does call me to do something for him, he is so grateful that it is unbelievable. Besides, he is super cute too. Sorry about getting on my soap box again. I don't like people who feel it's okay to contact and chew people out in the way you were. I tend to get a bit more than miffed and will end up "talking" to the offender and advising them that they need to learn manners, and in your neighbor's case, also learn to contact people rather than expecting the neighbors to contact her specially, so she knows to put out her trash.

Even for the simplest things people want to blame others.
