Who Created the First Push-Up Bra? You might be surprised. Although the amount of cleavage revealed was deemed inappropriate and the film was banned by censors Jane Russell had become a star overnight. The 1943 film, "The Outlaw" was produced by the billionaire Howard Hughes who also created the first underwire bra to enhance the bust of Jane Russell. Years later Russell revealed that the bra Hughes had created was so uncomfortable she had secretly worn her own for the film.

I remember reading on a quiz website on my emails that Howard Hughes did invent the push up bra.
