I've posted this one before but it is worth putting out there again whether you've seen it before or have never seen or heard of it. When the subways, trains, and bridges to/from Manhattan were closed--the piers and ports were not. It is called "Boatlift" and was an even bigger marine evacuation than Dunkirk back in World War II. The video says that they moved 300,000+ over 9 days back in history but Boatlift evacuated over 500,000 in just 9 hours. Absolutely incredible. This video is worth a watch.

The story of "Boatlift" is very good to learn about the heroic deeds on that tragic day in 2001 in our nation.

Thanks for the link. The video is awe-inspiring of what the human spirit is capable of. There were countless unsung heroes during 9/11

That is amazing and truly admirable and I had not heard about it. Just shows what can be achieved if people are motivated enough! Compared to Dunkirk though, I guess the distance was shorter, the waters possibly a bit calmer, modern communications and boat engines faster and the countries not at war so its a bit different. Not that I'm trying to denigrate the actions that day at all, it's just different.
