No orphans around

As some of you know I am planning on having a regular Christmas party for kids this year which I could not due to the pandemic in the last few years. But was surprised to know a lot of orphanages are empty as most children were sent home during the pandemic and have not returned.
There is a school I know where there are a few poor kids studying. Have asked a friend to contact them and see if I could entertain those kids instead. I like throwing such parties and hope that will be possible this year. Keeping my fingers crossed..

Probably they did not want them to be alone at home while they were at work and the pandemic changed it all.

I would think it would be the opposite..more orphans because of parents dying due to covid?

Why are put into the orphanage if they have a home? Have a nice party with the children.
