Ooh, what a morning! You can’t believe the great weather today. It’s almost like summer went on vacation with that cold front that came through! Time to go out and listen to the sounds of nature! It’s also time to listen to another song that has “listen” in the title. Hope everyone knew this one was coming.
#2: Listen to Me - Buddy Holly
As you’ll see on the obits list, it’s been a bad year for Buddy Holly musicians. One of the two surviving Crickets, Jerry Allison, passed away last month, and “Oh Boy” co-writer Sonny West died this month.
Then you look and see those songs came out 65 years ago and you realize how thankful you are that they were here as long as they were.
As for Buddy, September 7 was his birthday, and he would have been 86 this year.
This is one of Holly’s lesser-known songs, which is sad because it’s a sweet mid tempo love song. This came from the “solo” album he made in 1958.
And it’s a gem.

I don't know this one. I think I already told you that the kids in school thought my husband looked like Buddy Holly

It isn’t one of those “play it all the time” Holly songs, which is sad because I think it’s terrific.
