Possessions and Happiness

Most people here in my state think that having a lot of wealth and money are the only criteria for recognition in society. A person is equal to his wealth. So I have nearly two acres of land, own house, a job, a small car, a scooter, lot of trees in the premises, wife, mother, two daughters. Am I equal to only these things? Of course they are very much valuable in life, but I feel attitudes, knowledge, good deeds and a mind that does not find pleasure in hurting others are also important. I also feel that poor people also have a place.

This is not only in your country. In most countries rich and powerful people are those recognized in society. There are many people who are poor but a lot better persons.

Money is needed for living but it cannot become a citeria of living. Good attitude is very essential for life.

That's the thinking with most people. I would say that life is fair to none. Be it rich or poor, we all have our share of problems. I totally agree with you that the right attitude is very important.
