Someone catch JJ. He just fell over. Hope his new couch caught him. Yes, it’s really me. See what meeting Scar and you one time does to a person?
For everyone else, here’s another song that you’d swear was a big hit single, based on how much airplay it got (and gets)…but no.
#9: Tom Sawyer - Rush
And while you’re at it, someone get NJ Chic a barf bag.
No, I don’t like Rush, generally. My comment is that Geddy Lee sounds like 20 cats being simultaneously strangled and electrocuted at a Stevie Nicks concert. But I’d rather listen to Rush than Journey. (So you know where Steve Perry stands in my world by that remark.
)
As for this song, this is, for non-Rush fans or casual listeners, THE definitive Rush song. Their “mega hit.” The big one!
Except it didn’t even make the top 40 in the US. And, according to Picky Wedia, it wasn’t even released as a single outside of Canada and the US.
You probably can’t believe that, given that you can’t get away from this song.
Tom Sawyer
Written by Rush and Pyle Dubois
Recorded by Rush
From Moving Pictures, 1981
Billboard single peak position: #44
His mind is not for rent (PS: I like that Geddy has Alex’s Hall of Fame induction speech on his t-shirt
):

@crossbones27 — here it is, no reason to go look, especially while the baseball game is on.

There’s a video on You Tube of Neil Peart drumming with Buddy Rich’s band, and it’s far and away more impressive than the 6,384,106 piece drum kit he had in Rush.

It’s a big FM rock staple, so if your forte wasn’t FM rock it was easy to miss.

Not my kind of music. That guy sure has a huge drum kit.

I don’t think he liked being seen.
Generally not my kind of music, either, but I do like this song.

They’re one of those bands most people either love or hate, with no real middle ground.

What’s wrong with Journey? Other than their lamea/ss songs (“South Detroit” is “Windsor, Ontario” to the rest of us) and Steve Perry’s my-gonads-are-caught-in-a-vise voice, you mean???
Tell me this is the same band:
