This morning, I was ready and chomping to go to kick start my final week of job training at Marc's. Straight out of the gate, I went to the pallet and ripped open the plastic wrap. I had 26 boxes on my pallet. Craig believed that we would get it done on time. And we did. I started out with more Halloween closeout items, the majority of boxes to open and price and store on the cart before break.
Then I had seven boxes of faux fur throw blankets to open, price, and store in five carts. Perfect for winter and probably would go by fast. I normally have four full carts filled before my shift ends. But today, it was around seven carts. I also had Friendsgiving table covers and small autumn paper plates stacked in my carts. Though I didn't get any cardboard cuts, I did end up injuring my right middle finger when I closed the cardboard baler machine's lid. I've put ice on it on and off since I've gotten home, though I can bend it while it's still blue. It's going to hurt for awhile.
Six days done, four more to go. I'm more than halfway through the halfway point and ready for my meeting with Jamie and Maggie for the next stage. These past couple of days had gone by fast and went by flying. It'll be over before I know it.

@RubyHawk Well just on job skills training which is the next stage in October. Finding job leads, applying, resumes, interviews, travel training, and working with a job development coach. I really don't need all of this and could go on my own since I've done it all before last year and this winter. I'll mention it to Jamie at the next CBA meeting--I'll do the resume and mock interviews, but don't need anything else. It's a waste of time IMHO.

I don't believe so. I was just trying to move a box or two back into the machine since the lid wouldn't close shut before I turned the machine on. This happened at the end of shift, so I was done for the day and finished my pallet.

No safety gear needed for the baler machine. We just switch open the lid, toss the cardboard inside, close it shut, and then switch on the machine for the baler to go down. Then we switch it off when it's done. Hurts a tiny bit, but it's better now.

This is good. Now you're on your way for job skills training soon. Goodluck.
