I suppose this is the end of the news about the funeral.

I have been reading news about Queen Elizabeth´s funeral for several days. And I suppose that this is going to end soon and that life will go on.
I have my own opinions about many of the protocol. And of course the question is Why should I? The Queen was never my queen. There´s no monarchy in my country since 1818.
Still, I wish that Harry and Megan would have been treated better by their family although that is not the usual family. I could not even think of my family following all those strict and formal steps they did. So maybe Harry knew what was before him.
I also would not have left out of my will anyone of my grandchildren. But then, I am not a queen. I am giving away some pots and pails to my children now that I´m old. And gave away some Corelle cups to Dixie as she was so keen on having them.
To be a Royal, you have to be born a Royal. If not, there is no possibility of understanding anything at all.
Have you thought about all this?

To me, as an American, I see the king/queen today more as a figurehead than an actual “ruler.” I don’t think King Charles is going to have anyone beheaded the way Henry VIII did.
Still, the old military traditions are fascinating.

@FourWalls Royals and celebrities are not the kind of life I would like.

@marguicha — ditto. I wouldn’t trade my brother for anyone’s.
I really hate the fact that Charles has lived his entire life with everything since his first diaper change being reported in the press. Yeah, I get it, he was heir to the throne and now he’s king, but EVERYBODY is entitled to privacy! All that media attention will definitely put the funk in dysfunctional when it comes to families.

The monarchy is its own little world with its own set of protocols. We can't imagine what it's like living as they do.

I know. I don´t think that I´d like to live as they do. I live with so little protocol that it is just a number of good manners that my mother taught me when I was a child.

If I lived in Canada, I would be anti monarchy too.

I would have left a piece of jewelry to little Lilibet.

Like you, I can’t imagine being able to follow the protocol required of the members of the monarchy. As I watched the grandchildren during the ceremonies, I kept thinking how hard it must be for them to have their grief for their grandmother be so publicly displayed and even analyzed.

We are just people. They are taught since they were born.

I'm not ambitious or too ambitious to be a king or to live as a royal family even in my dreams. I am just contented of what I am and of what I have.
