I started knitting a throw blanket for someone this month and if I keep on track I will finish in May and then will have to find my new yarn to knit a throw with. I was knitting it for a coworker but I'm no longer working there so now it's just going to someone I knew for a time. My kids say I should just put it on the auction site but I know I wouldn't even make my yarn cost back.

I'm more of a multi colored person and this is a solid green. I'm ok with giving it away. I haven't kept an item yet that I've made. I'll start one for me next, just have to pick the pattern I want.

@fatragu I’ve made quilts for all my family and I’ve kept some for myself.

@RubyHawk I've only made one quilt so far and it was a gift for my new cousin to welcome her into the family since she was 7 and the youngest cousin was almost 20 at the time. She's my kids' age so I did that to be nice. Wasn't received as well as I would have liked but oh well. I need to make a couple to have in the car during winter incase of breakdown. I have bought cheap ugly fabric for those quilts.

You're so good, But why did it take so long to knit it?? I don't understand knitting, so please don't be offended.

I'm a SLOW knitter lol. I'm working on an average of 2 rows per day. Today I've done 4 so far but this week I have 4 days that I won't have any knitting time because we're going on a road trip and I'm only taking my crochet.

@fatragu Even so, you are great, you can still knit in the midst of your busy life. Respect.

Perhaps giving it to a good friend as a gift will be a good option.

I love all kinds and colors of yarn. And for sure yarn is expensive. I am four thumbs when it comes to handiwork but I love to browse the colors and textures in a yarn shop.

I knit and crochet and currently have 6 storage tubs of yarn in my bedroom. Buying the yarn and using the yarn are two different hobbies. I'm doing my best to only use from my stash but this project I forgot to bring something to work since I was staying in town later for an event and needed something to do so I had to go buy this yarn.

I don't know about the crafters you know but I'm one that will gladly knit or crochet an item if you supply the yarn I tell you I need. I enjoy the act of knitting/crocheting and then giving the item away so it doesn't clutter up my house. If you know any crafters ask if they'd be willing to do the same.

I love the effort one puts into making one. I hope the receiver would appreciate it very much
