I purchased some red plums online as Dusshera is on the 5th of October 22 and my elder son wishes to eat biryani on that day. Now I won't be needing a kilo of plums for chicken biryani and therefore decided to make some chutney with them today and I did make it.
My mother used to make this chutney when we were young. In those days we could purchase plum at throw away price but they have become quite expensive now yet I purchased them as I would use some for the biryani and make some plum cakes too.
I put some in our fruit juice too as plums are good for the heart, cholesterol level, weight management and managing the sugar level in our blood. It also purifies our blood.
So it's a fruit that suits both your taste buds and health.

I love plums but didn't realize they had so many health benefits. All fruit here has increased in price.
I'm not familiar with biryani but I'm sure your son will be happy to have chicken biryani for Dussherea. Chutney is a great way to use those plums.

Fruits here aren't expensive in my city but the plum is. Biryani is chicken cooked with rice along with plum, apricot and dry fruits.

Yes, it is delicious. I put jaggery to sweeten it.

It should be healthy as it's just seasoned with mustard, fenugreek seeds and curry leaves and cooked in jaggery.
