Biryani Love

My love for biryani is eternal ...I can gobble them either for lunch or dinner & aim to taste 24 varieties of the dish that's prominently available across Indian sub-continent. Yes, India has almost 24 variants of biryani. Today I had "Calcutta Style Chicken Biryani" which is another signature variant of the East, the specialty of it is the content of Potato & boiled egg along with chunks of chicken. Needless to say the aroma of the dish can pull in any neighbour to your house Pic : My own

That looks yummy! Your post reminds me of my elder daughter. I would make chicken biryani at least once every week for her. I am a vegetarian by choice but occasionally go for it. It's navratri times and we don't take non veg now.

@Rimps85 like the Balinese there is also a name for basmati rice but I have never tried it

those are special types of rice...called "Basmati" they are long grain and have specific aroma

yep...Biryani is incomplete without basmati....however, few variant from South India do not use basmati...logic being - they want spices to be centroid and let basmati not take away all the credit...
