I got three shots today!

As I mentioned in a previous point, I had a routine check up today. My blood pressure turned out as usual, something like 128/70, whatever that means. Even with my smoking, my blood oxygen was where it is supposed to be. And my heart and lungs sounded good. And a little mole on my chest that I asked about turned out to be nothing. I found him in my garden, and he was so cute, I put him on my chest and took him to the Dr. But I did find out that I was due for a "shingles " shot, in addition a flu shot, if I so chose. I had also planed to get a Covid booster, if the walk-in clinic was open today. I do very little roofing, and the roof on my cabin is tar paper, so I don't know why they wanted me to get a shingles shot. But I have heard from older friends that the splinters from shingles can be really painful, or something like that. So I went "balls to the wall," or however its most politely said, and got all three shots. I did ask about side effects, and the nurse said something about "no more than a mild flu. Just take some Tylenol." Not what I wanted to hear, but I went for it anyway. As of six hours later, all I feel is a bit of tightness in my shoulders. I showed the older kids my three Band-aids in the afternon, and they were impressed. I told them I did not even cry. I may go to the pool, as it's warm out now, and I was told to keep my arms moving as much as possible. I was also told to stay hydrated, so I bought two bottles of Gatorade and filled a third bottle with water. How was your day? Have you known anyone who has had "shingles"? Were they roofers? Do you think it was worth it to get the shot?

We aren't roofers but we had our shingles shot after a friend fell off her roof and had a week in hospital getting over it. That was enough for us to hurry along and get jabbed.

Yikes. I was awakened at Midnight tonight by a pretty severe coughing fit. I am trying to catch my breath and get through it. Other than that, I feel fine.

Did she survive? I don't mind a little pain.

@TheHorse She did. But she had a lot of creams to use as she broke out on her head and near her eyes.

I don’t have to get the shingles vaccine because I never had chicken pox. Maybe Chick Fil-A chicken pops? Fix your flue while you’re working on your shingles!

I don't know if I did or not! I think I had measles. Eh, I'm still feeling OK.

You should have given your "mole" a shot since animals can also get infected with covid. Also, your roof won't look good with rashes. stick to tar paper.

Rashes? Do people get rashes from shingles? Splinters I would understand.

I had shingles twice, then the shot (which turned out to be two shots a month or two apart). It hurt.

Yes it is worth it to get the shingles shot. My cousin had shingles and she had it bad. So get all the shots you need it is better than getting anything from not having the shots.

Ha ha! I had shingles; and it was horrible. It lasted for about 2 weeks. I now have my two shingles shots, pneumonia shots, COVID-19 shots...you name it...I've had it. All we need now is our annual flu shot and the 2nd COVID-19 booster shot. Good for you!

@TheHorse I hope you picked a complimentary color for the shingles on your roof.
