In 1945 Elvis made his first public performance at age of 10, singing “Old Shep” in a youth talent contest Mississippi-Alabama Fair and Dairy Show, in Tupelo, Mississippi; the contest was broadcast over WELO Radio, and he wins fifth prize - $5.00 in fair ride tickets. In 1963 “Here’s Love” a musical by Meredith Wilson based on the movie “Miracle on 34th Street” opened at the Schubert Theater in NYC and ran for 368 performances. In 1970 the musical “Coco” by Andre Previn and Alan Jay Lerner, inspired by the life of Coco Chanel starring Katherine Hepburn closed at the Mark Hellinger Theater in NYC after 329 performances and two Tony Awards. In 1975 George Harrison came out with his sixth studio album Extra Texture in the UK. In 2011 according to new scientific research, it was found that the song “We Are the Champions” by Queen was the catchiest song ever written.

What interesting information about Elvis. I know 'Ol' Shep' well. It used to get a lot of air play.

I didn’t know that about “We Are the Champions”. I became an Elvis fan many years after Old Shep was recorded.
