Hi guys, Hope you all are doing good. I am doing well too. Covid recent update for India is 2,139 new cases and 13 deaths in last 24 hours. The recovery rate is however good in India as it's 98.76%. I think there is less importance given to Covid news then what it was earlier. Earlier during first and second wave, every channel use to broadcast the figures and stats for Covid. It was the talk of the town as people all over the world use to talk much about it. Nowadays, since few years after the invention of vaccine and people getting vaccinated, the talk has died almost. The cases have gone low in India compared to last few years. It's as if the people have considered Covid as a way of life. There are very few people here who are wearing masks. We as a family are still wearing it as Covid hasn't gone completely so it's better to stay cautious. Let me know your thoughts about it. Have a good day!! Take care!!

I feel Covid is almost near to being called endemic. I know this may sound overconfident, but the kind of rush/crowd I see nowadays in festivals, trains, markets, buses, public gatherings etc...and yet the majority of the crowd not having any issues or symptoms is an indication that Covid may be present but it is no more affecting people. we had lakhs of gatherings of people during Navratri and Ganesh festivals, but still, it all looks like the situation is under control...that is what I think and I would hate to have any new lockdown.

@Rimps85 yep and may be the deaths that are being reported for covid could be due to comorbidities.

the new cases rise is insignificant currently....likewise, why don't you keep a tab on the cases of other diseases in India...if you do that then you will find COVID are either at par or below them...

@Rashnag that's dangerous, because media houses create provocative headlines, but news are not...

It definitely isn’t talked about nearly as much in the United States. Schools have been back in session over a year. My oldest daughter and I are vaccinated but the rest of my house isn’t. We all just had Covid the past few weeks. Third time it’s been in my house in 14 months.

There are still a few here wearing masks when they go out but the figures aren't being given out on the news like they used to do.

@Rashnag I think the government should also concentrate on cleanliness to eradicate this virus in addition to vaccination.
