In the hills due to geographical reasons the days are shorter. We found in Tibet and China that the sunset used to happen by 5.15 pm. The moment the sun set the cold set in those places. But there is very fresh oxygen in the place as there is a lot of greenery in the Himalayas.

I stayed in Zangmu and Kodari on China Nepal border. I returned back. The Himalayas connected China, Tibet, Nepal, Bhutan and India

thanks Ruby I studied LLM in Case Western Reserve University Cleveland Ohio. In december the sun used to set by 2.30 and in summer set by 6.30

May be you went between September and February?
I think that in the upper mountains also, sunsets during Summer months (April to July) would be occuring after 7 PM.
Or is there anything specific about the Tibetan areas?

In October, days start getting shorter so that could be the main reason.
Of course, even I have not been there during the summers, so I can't say.

thanks I covered Tibet part of China Nepal and Bhutan. I am not sure about the summers. I went in October. I found sun generally set early. Bhutan is situated a bit in the eastern direction so sun set was less late. For the other countries days were shorted and sun set early.

thanks Jojo I also were a cardigan like t shirt. The difference of my one with my elder son is that he did not have a cap while my t shirt had it. Yes it was cold. Presently I found people of Nepal, Tibet, Bhutan roaming around with their native dresses and there were no pullovers at all. Minimum temperature was around 12 degree celsius and maximum was around 22 degree celsius so it was pleasant
