This afternoon my internet was down and it seems that there is no day off for technicians. After I contacted them (with other provider of course) and they said that 3 optical cables were broken and the cables were owned by each companies due to being caught in a molen truck. You can see in the picture there are 2 indicator lights that don't turn on, it means there is a problem with the cable. Luckily the repair was completed within 2 hours.

all providers using fiber optic were off because there was a casting somewhere and the truck happened to hit the cable.

Fiber optics cables are drawn above the ground but in my area it's the government that owns it and it's quite costly. I use a jio wifi device.

What we have here is a collaboration between the government and the private sector. So if there is a problem both are responsible.

@aninditasen Maybe in Indonesia the cost can be cheaper, it can be said with an even distribution of bandwidth for each area.

@May2k8 In India too now it's a collaboration of private and government and therefore the high price.

I am sorry about the issue. But that was already fixed. Fiber optic uses high end technology! Like most of the optics the providers here are now offering for fast internet connectivity.

@jobelbojel It's still under repair until now but at least I can browsing, it's just the speed that hasn't recovered.

This time it's a repair in a very long time since their device was damaged by lightning, so the speed is being lowered to 5mbps and it's still being fixed.

When the connection is off, I know nothing about it. We usually call the technicians to get it fixed.

Imagine it's almost a region that's off, so technicians have to fix that right away without being called in.

Turns out the repair took longer than expected, 2 Weeks because some devices broke after 2 hours finished repair. Until now still being monitored.

Fiber optic is a type of cable made of glass that uses light as its transmission. Hope it's not down again.

Many factors cause the problem to appear here such as very strong winds and trucks that exceed the height of the power pole.

Yes, it's true, but if it's disconnected somewhere, of course, we can't surf the internet.

@CarolDM Internet usage here reaches hundreds of millions of people per day so it will most likely be upgraded to a more adequate level.
