Hi guys, Hope you all are doing good. I am doing well too. As you know, tiffin comes in our house as mom has fractured her leg. We get veg food in tiffin. Most of the times, food is left and we give it to our maid instead of wasteing it. I believe that there are millions of people across the world who aren't able to eat healthy nutritious food even for one time or sometimes never. We shouldn't waste food firstly, should take less in our plates firstly then can take another serving if required. Leftover food shouldn't be thrown out instead should be given to the needy. World Food Day was on 16th October. It's celebrated on this date every year since 1979. Dr. Pal Romany suggested it's establishment in November, 1979. It is celebrated in 150 countries across the world. This year theme of 2022 is "Leave Noone Behind". Food is essential for everyone for sustainable development of our bodies. Healthy and nutritious food is the right of everyone. I guess more awareness is spreaded now as hotels donate leftover food to needy people. People in India donate food on special occasions to needy. In temples, free food is given to all. I believe if everyone takes initiative and share food with others, then malnourishment can be curbed to a greater extent. Let's all decide to donate and share food with others as much as possible. Have a good day!! Take care!!

I agree with you. Food should not be wasted. It should be given to the needy. This is why I don't like some fast food policy of throwing away unsold food.

I never throw food and we usually eat our leftover food. Restaurants and grocery stores donate the food here. In France it is the law, it is mandatory to donate what is going to spoil and should be thrown the day after.

Glad to know. It's a good rule. By that law, food isn't wasted and good fresh food is given to the needy

@Rashnag Exactly, the food still good to be consumed by humans is donated to the charities. The food that does not look fresh enough is donated to the animal shelters.

I always donate food and give to others if they are short of food for the week.
