The small town of Anoka, Minnesota is home to around 20,000 residents. In 1920 Halloween enthusiasts were going all out wreaking havoc by tipping outhouses, soaping windows, and tearing down fences. Residents decided something had to be done as the property damage seemed to escalate. A non-profit local committee was formed and it is responsible for the annual celebrations that take place there and make up the name of Halloween Capital of the World. Each year visitors are drawn to this small mid-western town for family-friendly fun and spooky brouhaha that is a month-long event. The perfect example of the town's special flair is the annual Halloween Parade held on October 23rd. Then after the parade is a bonfire which runs from 8:00- 10:00 P.M. On October 29th is the Big Parade for Little People from 1:15p - 2:15 P.M. And, then on October 30th is the Grande Day Parade which is the longest-running tradition. All festivities are free.

I would enjoy seeing it too. I have more of a spiritual interest in Halloween nowadays.
