Longmeadow Massachusetts Fire Department Deputy Chief Macsata was on his way home on Thursday afternoon when he received a call while he was driving in his auto that a housefire in his neighborhood when he decided to go the home that was on fire to see if he could save lives of persons who were affected by the fire. Deputy Chief Macsata arrived at the scene of the house fire before the first firetruck arrived. When he arrived at the scene of the housefire, a resident told him that one person was inside of the house fire. Deputy Macsata then grabbed a fire extinguisher and ran into the house that was on fire as he managed to get the resident who was inside the home out of harm's way in time. Shorty after the two residents were outside of the burning home, firefighters from Longmeadow, East Longmeadow, Agawam and Thompsonville worked together to put out the fire. The two residents who were in the house fire taken to a local hospital where they are being treated for their injuries. They are expected to make a full recovery. The authorities are searching for the cause of the fire which did cause significant damage to the home. Even though Deputy Chief Macsata was off the clock, he did what is right by going to the sight of the fire to save the life of one resident who was inside of the housefire..

@RubyHawk That is true since saving the life of a person during a fire can be deadly due to the smoke inhalation.
