An owner of a donkey that ran away from his home in Willits California last Tuesday afternoon was seen by eyewitnesses who saw the donkey walking on the roads is happy that his pet donkey was found by animal control officials. Thanks to the actions of the eyewitnesses who saw the loose donkey who saw the donkey wandering by himself on the street. Police officers who are employed by the Willits Police Department responded to the emergency calls from their community to assist the donkey to get off of the road and into a safe area which with the help from concerned residents to the Evergreen Shopping Center. Then the Willits police officers were able to contact the owner of the donkey who was able to reunite with his donkey later on in the same day. I am sure that the donkey got away from his home when the owner may have left a gate open by accident.

That is true since some animals do miss their homes that are being taken away from them in the name of progress.

@Deepizzaguy this is true. Builders need to keep that in mind and preserve land for animals living there

It's lucky the donkey wasn't hit by a car.

That is true since some motorists would bump into a donkey out of road rage.

Yrs, the gate was likely left open unless the donkey jumped the fence.

I think the gate was open by accident since the donkey that was in the news does not appear to be to jump over a tall fence.

@Deepizzaguy I think so too. His legs wouldn’t be long enough to jump over the fence.

Glad the donkey was saved, but maybe he wanted something from the store, and no one understood,

It is one possible idea that the donkey had food in mind while he was outdoors.

That is the best part of the news report of the reunion of the donkey and the owner with the help of the police and strangers.
