First off this is a Tim Burton movie, so of course, Johnny Depp is going to be in it. Which is part of what makes this movie so good! This is your classic movie about the main character having an oddity or deformity that makes him different than his peers. The scientist played by Vincent Price makes an animated human being, which turns out to be Edward who is played by Depp. However before Edward is complete the scientist dies, and this leaves Edward with a somewhat traumatizing appearance. Instead of hands, he has scissors fingers/hands. A suburban door-to-door saleswoman played by Dianne West takes Edward home and he falls in love with her daughter played by a young Winona Ryder. Edward is a kind and gentle, caring soul but the fact that his outward appearance is frightening because of his hands/scars and dark looks, he remains an outcast. This is one of the movies that Johnny Depp is most known for. Once you've seen it once, it will stick with you. It's a really heartwarming movie about an outcast becoming accepted.
