My youngest sister is really excited in our plan to build a brand new house. She ordered this wooden paper bill money bank for our house funds. We will skip borrowing loan in Pag-ibig funds because there are so many requirements. They are looking for banks that offer housing loan. We don't have problem with hardware construction materials because there is a hardware near us that would allow us to down 50,000 to 100,000 pesos and we can start to get all the materials we need and pay them little by little. Our real problem is labor because the construction workers have to be paid weekly and it is very costly. The money bank is made of wood and glass. You can see the money inside. It is for paper bills only no coins. My sister collects extra paper bills that we have everyday. I hope by next year the construction will be started

If you have a lot of money in something like that and it gets stolen that would be horrible. You guys don’t have a savings account at a bank?

I don't know but she likes to have one. So far money is safe in our house. Maybe she will put it in the bank once it gets full

Good luck with this. It will be exciting to see the paper bills gradually starting to fill the money bank.

Yeah the hassle of applying for a loan is a bit challenging at times. I think you can get a reasonably lower amortization with PagIbig if you are able to comply with the requirements they need. Banks would usually give bigger amortizations and Interest.

That's true laborers fee this time so expensive especially the lead man. The least is 600 per day up to 2000 per day.

Depending on the quality of work, labor is between 20-40 percent of the cost to construct a house. You should have a reliable person to watch/ supervise the workers as well as make sure construction materials are used prudently and more important not stolen from the job site.

It may take a million too for labor only

Which requirements from Pagibig are you having trouble supplying them? When it comes to repairs, carpenters and plumbers now do what they call pakyawan. They will tell you the total labor cost and how many days it will take, for example, 5,000 for 3 days (excluding cost of materials). I don't know how it's done for building a brand new house.

Why not avail of Pag-ibig housing loan? If you're a member of Pag-ibig. I think the interest is manageable.
