So why was I in Section, Alabama today? Because I’m a music geek, of course.
As you can see by the photo, that has its perks.
Section, Alabama is a tiny town in northeastern Alabama, in the Sand Mountain region. It has no major interest for anyone except people like me.
Ira and Charlie Louvin were born there.
I had to go see the birthplace of my favorite country music duo (heck, my favorite duo, period). Along the way, I saw this.
This park, Weathington Park, looks over the hills of Sand Mountain and the Tennessee River.
The entire drive along the river was so good I had to turn around and do it again!!!
And the picture is nothing compared to actually standing there and looking.

I had lunch in Scottsboro, at 50 Taters. It was quite good. What a cute mom-and-pop place!

@FourWalls No way. That is too funny. I have not been in many years. Glad you enjoyed. Love small town America.

I can’t do anything but show the scenery. I can’t let you feel the wind blowing, smell the fresh air, or hear the birds.
The scenery is incredible by itself, though. Everything else is a bonus.

@FourWalls I can imagine how it feels to be there. That view reminded me of Ireland.

Glad you visiting your music roots. Very lovely picture. I heard that place is very pretty.I would move there because not to crowded but I have a feeling I would get booted out the state.

@FourWalls Indeed, punk rock crossbones would be booted from that part of Alabama in 5 seconds.

This part of Alabama is in the “corner” with Georgia and Tennessee, so pick your level of conservatism.

Being in the place that you mentioned is indeed better than seeing the image.

“Being there,” you can smell the fresh air and see the birds. It’s still a great souvenir to have the photo.

Great! Even the R.E.M. music I sneak in occasionally?

That's a lovely picture. If you say it is nothing compared to reality, the actual scene must be stunning.

I’m glad you enjoyed it. Photos are terrific but they can’t match standing there, with the wind blowing and the sunlight hitting you and the fresh air. And all that beauty EVERYWHERE.

I know, I’m weird. But at least it got me up there!

God’s amazing handiwork (a misnomer, because technically He spoke it into creation!) is swallowing me up and pouring blessing after blessing on me in the process!

I didn’t want to, but the sign said the park closed at sunset.

I sent a picture to James Spann the weatherman and he used it. I met him this morning and he said, “I’m so glad you sent that picture.”

The entire drive has been unreal, because the trees aren’t totally barren yet in this part of the country.

There was no place to pull off to take a picture driving along the road. That was stunning (and a 13% grade, explaining WHY there were no pull offs!)!
