So earlier this morning me and my mom go in wet market to buy foods, So I helped her with the things we bought ( I would not call it groceries ) because it is not a grocery.
so idk if there is things like this in your country, but here in philippines there is Wet, Dry market.
WET MARKET: Fresh THings located (Fish, Pork, Chicken and other)
DRY MARKET: Fruits, Dried Fish(Tuyo) yea anything that is dry school supplies can be there when school is starting mostly before school starts like back to school.
So yea I have carried around 15kg of all Fresh Food we bought. and yea kinda heavy but all good. so I requested a lot of Black pepper as I really like it to put on the rice and egg when I cook some.
also liver of pork cuz I like it why not

There aren't places like that here. Everything is bought in grocery stores or in a butcher shop or a vegetable shop. A butcher shop handles only animal parts from animals the shop owner wants to sell. Vegetable shops carry all types of vegetable available that the shop owner is interested in selling. A grocery store carries meat, veggies and other types of foods, whether that be dried, fresh or frozen.

Maybe I should tell Pretty we need to stock up on black pepper for when you come to visit.
Oh, you like fish jerky? I tried that once... it made me sick. Also octopus jerky. That's when the doctor told me to stop eating seafood...
I like chicken liver rolled in flour and spices and fried but don't like pork or calf liver.

@DevMrSamEleazar Fish jerky is dried fish. We mostly eat beef jerky or, maybe, pork jerky. I have eaten alligator jerky, turkey jerky, elk jerky, antelope jerky and ostrich jerky. They all tasted okay but the fish and octopus jerky made me sick.
Chicken liver is cheap here.

We also have this kind of markets here. Usually we don't buy so much since we can go there anytime. Especially sometimes fresh food can't be stored for a long time. Sometimes we even go to buy the fresh vegetables everyday. Of course now it has changed due to the pandemic. Today I buy more food online and I seldom go to the market.

@DevMrSamEleazar Then it is a little different here. The markets are very common available in the neighborhood. For example, there are at least 5 markets nearby my home. Some are big and some are small.

Most things are found in grocery stores, although there are farmer's markets, and fish markets at least in the coastal areas, and some in the Great Lakes regions.

oh I see. well for me it is more good to buy in real areas not in groceries as they inject preservatives in things
