Kaliyah Harrington who is 11 years of age is being praised by members of her family when on the evening of October 29 when she was inside of her bedroom when she woke up after a fire started inside of her parents' home around 2am. Kaliyah ran into the bedroom of her mother Precious McNeil. After Precious was awakened by her daughter, Precious woke her husband who was sound asleep since it was during the overnight hours as well as pick up her eight month old baby. Kaliyah then ran into the living room to wake up her siblings and get them out of the house. Kailyah who credits her training in school how to deal with fire emergencies then risked her life to save her sister Chloe and get her out of danger. The Laurinburg Fire Department arrived to put out the fire. Thanks to the actions of Kaliyah, no one was hurt in the incident. All seven members of the family which included the parents and their five children are safe and sound. Laurinburg Fire Department Chief Jordan McQueen mentioned that thanks to the actions of Kaliyah, all of her relatives are alive today. The family that lost their home in Laurinburg will be getting help from Go Fund Me to replace the items that they lost. The fire department believes that the cause of the fire started in the kitchen.

I have noticed that kids today are smarter than adults think that they are. smarter than adults who think that they are troublemakers.
