We are watching an episode of Ridiculousness where they are talking about how much stuff that kids now will never understand or just don't recognize them when they see them. It got me and Chris talking about stuff from our generation that our kids won't ever use, or really even see. He's six and a half years or so older than me, so we remember just about all the same stuff from our childhood/growing up years.
Our kids have no idea what texting on a non smart phone was. The pain and agony of dealing with T9 texting on flip phones.
They don't really know what pay phones are. There are few in random places where we go, but they have never used them.
Phone books. I don't think she child would know what a phone book is if she saw one. At least not at first. I can't remember the last time we got a phone book.
Floppy discs. All the games our kids have played have been either discs or digital downloads. So they have no idea what a floppy disc is.
When Netflix was a actual mail service, and you could get discs of the shows or movies you wanted to see.
There are countless others. But what are some things from your childhood or your younger years that your kids or grandkids have no idea what they are, or wouldn't recognize if you showed them the item?

The area of technology has probably seen the biggest changes.

I;m sure my kids wouldn't know what to say about the phones that used to be in cars, before cell phones were a thing.
