The price of going for perfection

I have been there and done that so to say and I know what it is to go for perfection - its pros and cons and the benefits of not bothering about angles and straight lines.
It used to bother me if the bedspread was not put neatly by the maid or the dining table not set to my satisfaction. The painters, the carpenters, and all those workers who visited us got me on my nerves if they did not meet up to my expectations
One fine day I realised there is more to life than wanting those angles and straight lines. If I lower my expectations every one would be happy and there would be no more the need to walk on egg shells when it came to dealing with me.
There are creases on the nets that the carpenters had to remove and replace. They were dirty and they needed to wash them and in the process those creases appeared. I noticed them only after the work was completed. Redoing the work would mean sleepless nights both for me and the carpenters. I let them stay there - atleast the nets are now washed and clean.
Being practical is the name of othe game for me now . What's yours?

@allknowing It is a lot better to accept things as they are, not perfect.

@LadyDuck It starts in schools where one gets accolades if one stands first.

You have realized life and living and attaining joy is more important.
I have been this way for years..necessary things only to survive.
