Black rice kheer

Having access to the Internet has several advantages. I came across this black rice - black in colour too - where I read about its health properties.
I ordered for 2 kilos and anxiously read through the various ways it can be cooked. I picked the kheer recipe and prepared it. But sadly I did not relish it
That is the problem. Most of the time our tongue and stomach do not work in tandem. I will not order for it again but you may perhaps like it and here is the link

I think that is one variety and I doubt if they have done anything to produce black rice.

Was it's taste too flat or was the Rice not something that you are used to?
Often healthier things are not easy to adopt early on in terms of the taste that they impart.

I did not like the taste of the rice You are right about getting used to something that is healthy but needs time.

@allknowing That is what I was expecting a bit rough. I haven't tried it yet and there are literally no restos that offer that kind of rice. I was able to taste brown rice and I think its texture would be practically the same as that of black rice.

@rsa101 Brown rice is a staple diet in my household and it is not rough at all.

I found it a bit rough on my tongue unlike the rice we normally eat. Eating it on a daily basis perhaps you may find it costly.

@sol_cee Tell your teacher that English is a funny language (lol)I just found one situation - 'I will do it in a day' 'I will do it one day' See the different meanings just by changing the article a to one

I won't order something that I won't relish. I have seen this rice on the internet and didn't like it.

Unless one tastes it once how is one to know if tastes good or bad?

I think I have tried black rice before. My brother bought it. I don't enjoy black rice or brown rice. I just want white rice

Brown rice is what we eat every day and white rice is used for making snacks, biryani and pullao

@allknowing I think brown rice is healthier than white rice but I have no appetite for other rice

One needs to acquire tastes for such types of food.

@allknowing This is also my opinion. I have tried food considered delicious in its country of origin and I found the taste weird.

Haven't heard of black rice. I mainly eat white rice, occasionally brown or red rice.
