The once in Four Years Grand Sporting event is back.
For the first time in a Middle East country, the FIFA World Cup 2022 commences in 20th November in Qatar.
The first match is between the hosts Qatar and Ecuador at the Al Bayt Stadium.
The French football team will commence their title defence against Australia on November 22.
In all, 32 teams are taking part in this Tournament.
The Final would be played on December 18. Overall it's going to be an exciting tournament!

I might watch the finals. But I hope that the shows are not good. Actors and show people should not go to a country with such problems.

I think the host nation would have made nice arrangements for the cup.
Yes, there could be some challenges but not for the duration of the world cup.

Hmm... but I think they are liberal towards foreign travelers although some areas might be out of bounds.

This world cup was awarded in 2010.
There have been a few controversies like use of child labor and other things in Qatar.
Hopefully all those are behind and we can expect an exciting world cup.
You were in a transit when you were in Qatar or a short visit?

My only a few hours of stay in Middle East was during a flight transit in Dubai Airport when I was traveling via a Emirates New Delhi - Dubai - London flight.
That was back in 2005 November.

I enjoyed Emirates a lot.
Plus I like their Boeing planes more than Airbus ones in which I traveled in other airlines.

Hmm...the excitement begins. My husband is a die hard fan of football and so definitely the excitement has kicked in my home too. But this time he does not have company of his daughter, so definitely that is going to be missed..
My nephew has been to the last FIFA. He planned to go this time too for matches in the last rounds. But then he cancelled the program after all the controversies the host country is creating. If the venue was somewhere else, it would have attracted more audience.

Live watching is some time away.
Yes, Qatar has been blamed for neglecting construction workers' safety and well being, many of whom are from India and Nepal.
