What's going on the dinner table tonight? I want to know! I'm making a recipe from the new Smitten Kitchen cookbook. It is for Angry Grandma Pizza. I was introduced to "grandma pizza" by a coworker many years ago when he brought it over from a local pizza shop. It is a square-shaped pizza but with a thinner crust. It is nothing like a Sicilian pizza. I honestly forget what the other qualities were that made it something other than a square pizza but I do remember absolutely loving it. The sauce the author calls for is any "tomato sauce" so I'm using some homemade stuff from the freezer. She also calls for all sorts of toppings including pepperoni, red onion, and olives. I'm just going to use pepperoni as I despise olives. (love extra virgin olive oil though!) The dough needs to rise a bit more and then it is game on. I'm very much looking forward to trying it.
