Hello friends! So do you have beliefs? so I am 100% sure most of filipino mylotters will know this belief as it is so common here in philippines.
so here in the philippines some families believe that if you Sweep at the night it will be unlucky life for you. like they say you sweep the lucks out of your house.
next is dont cut fingernails when night they believe that if you cut your fingernails at night means you want one of your family/relative go out of existence (You know what I mean)..
next rotate your plate when you are eating and someone is leaving the house like going to work or far place. as to give them like a safe travel thing.
so yep that is those 3 very common filipino beliefs that my family belief and most filipino families belief I think.

Oh, wow! I've never heard of any of those things!
There are a lot of superstitions in the US. Some people believe them but I think most don't.
It is unlucky to walk under a ladder.
It is unlucky if a black cat crosses your path.
It is unlucky to spill salt. (You can ward off the bad luck of spilling the salt if you flick a bit of the spilled salt over your left shoulder.)
Finding a four-leaf clover is good luck.
Finding a stone with a natural hole through it is good luck.
Breaking a mirror is seven years bad luck.
Knocking on wood if you talk about something bad happening averts bad luck.
Bad things happen in threes...
Those are all I can think of off the top of my head but I'm sure there are others... (I've seen on myLot that some people still believe some of these things.

@DevMrSamEleazar Yeah, maybe...
The first pet I ever had was a solid black cat. He always walked so quiet that I called him Sneaker...
My dad believed all those things. He was always telling us to be careful about doing any of them. He's the one who taught me to flick spilled salt over my left shoulder when I was little...

@marguicha Oh, wow! I wouldn't think the beliefs would be the same halfway down the Americas. I wonder how that happened?

to be honest, i've only heard about sweeping at night, but we still sweep at night. i don't know anyone who follows not sweeping at night.
i've never heard of nor know anyone who follows the not cutting fingernails at night nor rotating the plate.
