The New Front Runner A new poll shows that the majority of Americans agree with Congresswoman Liz Cheney and do not believe that Donald Trump should be our president again. By serving as the vice chair of the January 6 Committee, Congresswoman Liz Cheney led the movement to expose President Trump's corruption, and convince the Republican Party to turn the page and find a new Presidential Candidate. Now that the majority of the American People agree with her, she is now the front runner to replace him on the ticket. Republicans should wake up and smell the roses, as they can have their cake and eat it too. They can dump the corrupt former President Trump, elected Liz Cheney, and get the conservative government they have always wanted. By serving on the January 6 Committee, she put the American People and her country first, and light years above her personal career and her political party. In this age of selfish politicians, the American People are searching for a selfless, patriotic, statesperson who will put them first and Liz Cheney has passed this test. She is selfless, and she will put the interests of the American People above her own. Paying The Price For Doing The Right Thing Representative Liz Cheney has already begun to pay the price for doing the right thing. The daughter of former Vice President Dick Cheney and a House GOP leader, she lost in the Republican primary on August 16, and will lose her seat in Congress in January 2023. Representative Cheney voted with President Trump 93% of the time when he was president, and yet former President Donald Trump displayed his vindictive character as he sought revenge for Cheney's vote to impeach him, and for her work on the January 6 Committee. Trump's candidate, Harriet Hageman, defeated Cheney and she will be the Republican Candidate for Cheney's seat in Congress. Former President Trump Cannot Be Trusted She will get rid of the corrupt President Trump, who cannot be trusted with the Presidency and the nuclear button. Former President Trump displayed extremely poor discernment and judgement when he attacked his own government, and instigated the deadly riots of January 6, 2020. Apparently, he has not learned anything since he left office. He foolishly took numerous government documents and sensitive classified documents and stored them at his residence. President Trump displayed a callous disregard for the American Patriots, men and women, who risk their lives everyday to put those intelligence reports together. America's national security would have been seriously weakened, and Americans would have been killed if the enemy stole these documents form Trump's residence. First Female President She also gives the American People the opportunity to elect the first female President. She has enthusiastic supporters and she will get the vast majority of the female vote. When Hillary Clinton ran for president in 2016 she got the vast majority of the female vote, and the vast majority of women will probably vote for Liz Cheney in 2024. In 2016, 54% of women voted for Hillary Clinton which is overwhelming higher than the 42% who voted for Donald Trump. History Is Repeating Itself Republicans have been in this situation before and they did the right thing, and it led to a Republican Renaissance. Republicans dumped a corrupt President Nixon and four years later the American People rewarded them by voting for the Reagan-Bush Team. This led to a Conservative-Republican Renaissance and some of the best conservative government in the history of the Unite States. Liz Cheney can lead a second Conservative-Republican Renaissance. The situation today is analogous to 1974 when the Republicans dumped President Nixon. President Carter won the next election in 1976, and he turned out to be a weak, unsuccessful, unpopular president. By doing the right thing and dumping President Nixon, the Republicans gained credibility with the American People and the Reagan Bush team won by a landslide in 1980. Today, President Biden is just like President Crater, weak, unsuccessful, and unpopular. Just like the Republicans of 1980. Liz Cheney has credibility with the American People, and can win the Presidency in 2024.

She doesn't have a snowball's chance in hell of becoming the GOP nominee. Too many Republicans have drunk the MAGA kool aid and hate her for voting to impeach Trump and for being part of the January 6 committee. They hate her and, unfortunately, any viable candidate would need to be able to attract at least some of the MAGA cult members. And just because she has been nailing Trump to the wall--that doesn't mean that she would get support from Democrats. She still is very much conservative and she votes that way almost every single time. I wouldn't support her despite the fact that I love the fact that she has been skewering Trump about January 6. If she ran as an Independent. . . she would siphon off moderate Republican votes which would ensure a Democrat victory.

Thanks for the comments, I appreciate it very much. Politics is a strange game and unusual things have happened on both sides of the aisle. They said Presidents Carter and Reagan could not win and they both won. President Reagan won by two landslides even though they said he could not win. Republicans are waking up to reality, and President Trump fell off the wagon and is no longer a reliable candidate. The polls already show that the majority of Americans do not want President Trump back in the White House. Millions of Republicans are ready to turn the page on President Trump. They are seriously looking at the challengers, and Liz Cheney will get her day in court. She has a great deal going for her, and when she gains momentum, Republicans will fall in line.

@PeterGagliardi Most of the GOP may be ready to move on from Trump but they will NOT support Liz Cheney. You'll see someone like Ron DeSantis or Glenn Youngkin and they would have a shot. Supposedly Marco Rubio and Chris Christie are considering it. I'm sure Ted Cruz will get in on the action too. I don't think Rubio, Christie, or Cruz have a chance either but they would get far more support than Liz Cheney ever would.

I agree with you. Many of her beliefs are not in line with mine, but I do admire her.

I agree with you that she is a women to be revered. She stood up to Trump, and his disgracing the Republican party. But would she get nominated? I don't think so. We will see.

@PeterGagliardi I am still a registered Democrat, but I am becoming more conservative with age. I want to see common sense return to politics, both on the Left and the Right. I'll leave it at that for now.

@TheHorse Thanks so much for the comment. Colton Wolf of National PR believes that young people will support Congresswoman Liz Cheney and this will lead to victory in the Republican Primaries and the General Election and she will be elected President of the United States. He has a point as she is much more interesting than the other challengers. What do you think?

This is a great discussion and I want to thank everyone for their participation and comments. It is very encouraging that we agree that the Republican Party, the voters, and the power brokers have turned the page on President Trump and his extremism. Here is an item from my home state of Pennsylvania. In the last election the Pennsylvania Republicans had a tremendous amount of money to spend on their candidates. They spend very little on their candidate for Governor, Doug Mastriano, because he is an extremists candidate just like President Trump. Of course he lost the election by a landslide. The power brokers do not support extremists when they know they are going to lose, and they will not support President Trump in 2024. At this time, all of the big name Republican challengers should be viewed as credible challengers to President Trump. The world is waiting to see which challenger can rise to the occasion, and get the nomination. Can we find lightening in a bottle? Let the world know that the best discussion of the Republican Party is found right here on Mylot!
