I've seen the musical on Broadway 3 times, most recently last month. We wanted to go see it one last time before it closes in early 2023. As always it was amazing. It is sad to think that I won't see it again.
Anyway I knew that there had been a movie adaptation produced several years ago but I never felt the need to watch it. Now that the Broadway musical is closing I wanted to have a physical version that I could watch whenever I wanted so I ordered the DVD. It arrived today and I'm about half way through it.
I've been reading reviews of it as I've been watching it. It seems that the professional reviewers didn't like it--mostly because they didn't like the Andrew Lloyd Weber version of the musical upon which the movie was based. Regular people who are fans (or "phans" as they call themselves) have overwhelmingly positive views of the movie.
I have to say that I am enjoying it. I've always liked the musical and I think this is a good film adaptation of it. I think even people who have never seen the musical would do well to watch it as it does a great job of sharing the experience. I recommend watching it if you have the opportunity. It wasn't available on Netflix or Amazon Prime so I had to buy the DVD. I'm glad I did.

I'm glad you enjoyed the DVD. Now you can watch it whenever you want. I've never seen POTO.
