I think bats are cute. Most don't, I know. But here are some facts about them that I found interesting: * Bats help farmers a lot. They control pests and reduce the need for the use of pesticides. * Bats can eat about a thousand mosquitoes in an hour. * Bats hang upside down from their feet for hours. * They have long spread-out digits and are more maneuverable than birds. * Bats can growl and make low-frequency calls using so-called 'false vocal folds.

Bats are very helpful, for eating pests at such a large proportion! Now to mention, they don't hurt anyone. In spooky movies, they've been portrayed as evil which they aren't.

We used to live at the foot of the mountain where there were many caves. At dark ever night bats came in a swarm down the mountain. We enjoyed watching them.

@RubyHawk ........I used to see them fly over to the park from a church roof on Wednesday evenings when I took a break from a youth group I was going to back in my early teen years. I remember there was one white one and I was so fascinated watching them.
