...Or that's what we were supposed to be doing!
My Mum wanted to go early so that we could get back for 12:00 midday to get the lunch on. When that obviously wasn't going to happen, she said 1:00pm. I knew that wasn't going to happen either but I kept my mouth shut!
I tried on a pair of warm boots but one of them I couldn't zip up and when I stood in them they felt really strange and horrible so I gave up on them and decided they could go to the Oxfam shop. Then I tried on a pair of black ankle boots which I could zip up, but they were all dusty and bitty inside and I got a bit of dust and grit out but then they didn't feel good either. The heels were a bit higher than my normal shoes and so I felt like I was being propelled forward! I gave up on them too! I ended up wearing a pair of red ankle boots that my Mum's friend Nan Nutt gave me once.
We ended up setting off at about 11:00am. We were all wrapped up warm. We made our way slowly by Stowe Pool. Mum wanted to go to the Halifax and withdraw £700 but she thought it closed at 12:00 midday on a Saturday and she didn't think we were going to get there on time. We were approaching Minster Pool by the time the Cathedral bells chimed 12. So Mum thought we'd missed the bank.
When we turned the corner to go past Minster Pool we saw some market tents and burger vans and Mum realised it was the Lichfield Food Festival! There were all sorts of stalls and food vans. There was an old red double decker bus that was being used as a bar. We passed a whole load of those as we headed to the post box where Mum wanted to post 2 Christmas cards. As we approached the post box, a post lady was emptying it! I hoped we could get there in time before she went! Fortunately we made it and I passed the cards to the post lady rather than having to put them in the box, and they went straight away!
We passed by the Halifax on the offchance it was still open, and it was! They don't close at 12:00 midday on a Saturday at all, they close at 1:00pm! So Mum was able to withdraw her £700.
Then we went up to WH Smith because Mum wanted to look for some calendars, a small diary and she wanted to get some stamps. Then we were going to go to Wilko to look for some wrapping paper and 2 dog toys, and maybe go in The Works. I wanted to get presents for my little nephews and my brother and sister-in-law. But it didn't end up like that!
When we got into WH Smith right inside the door I found a puzzle game that you could play on your own, or challenge someone else. I thought that was really good and they were only £5. At first I thought I'd just get one and let my nephews share it but Mum said you'd better get 2, so I did. Mum was going to then look for some calendars and her diary and then get her stamps, and while she was doing that I'd go and pay for my games. So I went and paid, and I actually went to a human being this time!
After I'd paid I noticed Mum looking at the calendars so I went to see if the Doctor Who magazine had come in yet! And it had! So I grabbed that quick and went and paid at the self service till! It was £7.99 and I put in a £10 note hoping it would give me my change! Thankfully 2 £1 coins and a 1p piece dropped out! Then I went over to Mum at the calendars. She hadn't chosen one. Eventually she chose a diary for herself and I found a Doctor Who calendar that will be my Christmas present. But she didn't get the calendar that she was aiming to get. She went to pay and ask for her stamps and I waited by the door.
By this time it was nearly 1:30pm, so when we came out of WH Smith Mum decided she wanted to go home and get the lunch. We didn't manage to do any more Christmas shopping!
But it took a long time to get home, what with Mum being so slow, and we didn't get home till 3:00pm!
Then Mum didn't get the oven on till 3:30pm and we ended up having our "lunch" at 4:00pm! Almost as soon as I'd had my lunch I was getting my tea ready! (Tea as in meal not just tea as in drink.)
What did you get up to today?
I hope you are all well.
Have a great day/evening/night!

It seems like you got a lot accomplished. Nothing much going on here. We will watch the Cleveland Browns' (football) game today. You have a good day as well.

@LindaOHio Yes, we do. We're hoping to do some at the big Tesco on Wednesday, and then maybe some more on Friday down town.
Thank you very much.

Well, no, we didn't really. We didn't get half done of what we were going to do. I was going to get presents for my brother and sister-in-law, Mum was going to get wrapping paper, 2 dog toys for the dogs of friends that we know, calendars for my step-dad and one of Mum's friends, Christmas cake and my salmon for Christmas day.
I hope you enjoyed your football game. I hate football!
Have a nice day.

Yes, it was lucky the bank was still open, but we didn't do half what we intended to do.

Thank you very much. We had the usual - battered cod. My Mum and step-dad have chips with their battered cod, but I just had the battered cod on its own.

I was able to reach my goal to complete more than 30 surveys on Branded Surveys which does pay out money I earned on Sunday evening. I did share some good news stories on this site as well.

That's good. Congratulations on that. I've just claimed a £4 Amazon gift card from doing surveys on MOBROG, but I'm having trouble claiming rewards from Toluna because when I try the screen goes grey and nothing happens. I contacted them to tell them of my problem and sent them this screen shot.
