Harry Kane in tears, Neymar in tears, Ronaldo in tears.

December 11, 2022 7:30pm CST
The tragic part of world cup soccer in Qatar is the loss of the champion teams. There is only one champion. But there are at least 10 champion teams. I have seen Harry Kane of England in tears, Neymar of Brazil in tears, Ronaldo of Portugal in tears. Some of them have probably played their last world cups. While the victorious teams rejoice, the defeated teams spend time in grief and tears.

This was a last chance for some of these soccer professionals. And what a shame, one of those teams had to lose

thanks Kharla that is the irony of sports. Both the teams cannot win. One rejoices, the other are in tears

@sathviksouvik And when children are young, they need to learn that both teams are remarkable!

One news article said something like "Graveyard for English World Cup Dreams" !! Yes, Football is a big passion in England and they always strive to win the World Cup but Graveyard word is too harsh. Many of these big names might not play in the next FIFA World Cup like Neymar and Ronaldo but this is life ! The good part is that teams like Morocco which reached the Semis, Japan and South Korea showed that other teams apart from the biggies can also play well and dream of being the champions one day.

That's what it is about the sports. Messi might also be playing for the last time in World cup. He has played well throughout this series. The excitement is there. And you have rightly said that only one team emerges as winner at the end. But then there are many who put a well deserving effort there.

thanks Arunamji I dont like the media attacking the coach and players after losses. Ronaldo is the best individual stylish ball player I have seen in the last 15 years. But he is old now. There is a limit to matching the speed of the youngstars. One has to understand it.

@arunima25 thanks Arunimaji same goes for other sports also. Once the same Indian cricket players who all are appreciated after losses are ridiculed. virat kohli was not even informed by BCCI due to public pressure while taking away his captainship in one days

@sathviksouvik The media is a shame. It's totally against the ethics of sportsmanship.

This year's World Cup should also be the last chance for Messi. Let's see how Argentina goes.

I saw the video in which Ronaldo was in tears it was so painful to see him crying after being out of the tournament.

thanks Sanjeevji it is pure over expectation. Neymaar has not been part of world cup winning Brazil team ever. So if Brazil has not won any world cup in the last 12 years, what bad thing has Neymaar done this time? There is no point comparing Pele's time when Brazil 3 world cups

thanks Danna yes I will say those 8 teams which could qualify for the quarter finals are the best 8 teams. So should get credit rather than hatred and abuse

Yeah, that's how the game is, there is a team that has to lose so that there is a team that will win. The important thing is that the loser must be comfortable and the winner must not be arrogant.

thanks Ustani I am sad that the nations dont understand that. It happens like players after losing are treated in their country like committing some sin

@Charlesbronson yes of course at least 5 to 6 coaches of European teams who could not make it to the semi finals were sacked. All their effort and hard work was not honoured
