On Friday morning I woke up and like I usually do check my online banking to find a transaction for $39.90!!!!!! So, I called the bank and was told they would post the money back to my account , but for security reason's they would need to cancel my debit card and give me a new one. I would have a choice of getting one mailed to me or pick it up from a branch. Having gone thru this just a few months ago I remember that if I pick it up the $7.50 fee would be waived. So, I told her that I would pick it up. Then I was told that I will still be charged the fee! I could not get to the branch on Saturday. Therefore part of my plans for Monday are changed because I have to go to the bank......

I tend to lose my debit card when I get home from shopping. I have to do some fighting with another company that is charging my account for $29. It's a pain in the rear. My other debit card I forgot the secret code for it because I wasn't using it as much. Well to get them to let me set a new secret code is a super pain....Then there is Western Union that sent me a check that I couldn't cash because of a blue stamp on the back of the check, I don't have a checking account and don't want or need one, they told me that I could cash it through my bank. I decided that banks were formed to drive people crazy!

Yeah, because in order to get a credit card, rent an apartment, get a loan, get my social security check or almost anything you have to have a checking account.

They charge for everything these days but sounds like you got conflicting reports. If you go in and speak with someone who has been with company for a while they may say they can wave the fee, if its a young person though they most likely will say cannot because has no clout and is just automatically trained to say sorry.

I did, but it's a pain when I didn't cause this and I don't have a car. The nearest branch is a little over a mile away.

Our Bank does not charge to emit a new credit card, the fee is pretty high.

@dfollin I see, I did not ask for a debt car. I use my credit card and the bill is automatically paid at the end of the month.

I have to add that even the debit card places are messed up. I have one that I found, and I don't remember the password, my address doesn't match theirs, and I don't have the same email address since I got a new computer a couple of years ago. I'm going nuts talking to customer service people because they tell me that I stole the debit card. Sigh, it's easier to beat your head against the wall than deal with a bank!!!

@Treborika Yeah, my luck the house would catch fire or I would get robbed. And if I need to buy something from Amazon, Walmart, Target online then I have no way to do that.

That's why I prefer saving my money at home. Mostly the banks are so stressful when dealing with my money.

So you will have to pay the $7.5 for you to get the card. It's not that bad so long as having the card would save you time for waiting over the banking hall for long.

I don't think so it's not the one and only time. Why should I have to pay anything every time someone does me wrong?
