One Christmas I Always Seem to Recall

Other Mylotters have written about what a lovely relationship they have with their significant others. I sure do admire them for having this. I recall my last try at having a relationship. My ex was a unique person with some very odd ideas. I kept trying but a person can only beat their heads against a brick wall so long before they realize they are soon going to bleed with no positive outcome at all. I remember my first Christmas with my ex. He was making about five times what I was and I had a daughter I was trying to create a nice Christmas for. But, his remark to me was that I hadn't spent enough money on him. (yes, you read that right). Our pathetic Charlie Brown Christmas tree stood about four feet high. We had no tree stand for it so it was wedged between the couch and the end table. If you insisted on setting on the couch you ran the risk of tipping the tree over. It was definitely a Christmas to remember both for the negative and the positive. I think my daughter had a good holiday so I was happy about that.

I think you were right to divorce him. I'm glad your daughter had a nice Christmas.

I'm sorry you had such a negative experience. I hope you remember all the other good times instead.

We had some very nice Christmases too. I recall my early Christmases that were simply wonderful.

At least your daughter had a good Christmas. At Christmas time my kids always came first over any adult.

Same with me. He has never had kids and doesn't have the slightest idea about them coming first. He is a very selfish and narcissistic person. I am so glad he is no longer in my life.
