Loss Of my Facebook Page

My computer, taken by me

I was on Facebook practically from the start, acquiring nearly 5,000 followers, but last week I got blocked out. A spammer had hijacked a friend's Facebook page and used that to send me a code for changing passwords that she (or rather her imposter) said she had sent to me by accident - in fact the code was for resetting a password and as it came from my e-mail as a conformation, it shut me out of my own Facebook pages. I was unable to change it back as both contact points, the e-mail address I'd set up the original Facebook page and my reserve mobile phone number have long since gone. Getting Facebook to recognise my current contact details proved impossible, as they only have direct helplines for paying business users. A few tech-savvy friends tried getting me back in to no avail so now I am having to relaunch my Facebook page from scratch. If you were on the original one or just want to join me now in the reboot version, let me know, and if anyone, even if you know them sends you a code, ignore it entirely. Arthur Chappell

I have an account but haven't opened it in over a year. I keep getting emails from them saying someone is trying to access my account but I don't care. If someone else wants it, they can have it. (My account was set up when Fb was new and I needed a way to check in with a friend who was a missionary in Peru at the time. He's been back in the US for around 18 years now.) Good luck with your new account.

I am sorry this happened to your page Arthur after all this time. And nothing to gain for the scammer. Such nonsense to say the least.

It’s a shame you had to go through all that. I hope your days are getting better.
