Sandra O' Neill who lives in Sacramento California with her mixed German Shepherd male dog named Zeppelin thought she was would never see her dog again after he ran away from her home in October 2021 after her dog would visit a construction site but he would return home later in the day until the day he vanished. What happened to Zeppelin after he ran away from his owner in October 2021 remains a mystery since dogs cannot speak to humans. However. A female who lives in Louisburg Kansas found Zeppelin in her property and she took Zeppelin to the Wildcat Veterinary Clinic earlier this month. Since Zeppelin had a microchip on his coat as he was examined by a veterinarian inside the clinic, the veterinarian was able to contact Sandra to inform her the good news that her dog is alive and well in Kansas. To make this story even sweeter, Mary Hastings who is a volunteer with the Wildcat Veterinary Clinic will travel from Louisburg to Sacramento which is 1,600 miles away which an auto and reunite with Sandra around Christmas. Reuniting with a long lost pet for Christmas is priceless.

That was a long drive to return the dog to his owner. The owner must have paid for it.

Yes I am sure that Zeppelin's owner did pay for the trip from Kansas to California to get her pet back.

@RubyHawk Yes it was expensive since a trip that covers at least 1,400 miles is very expensive.

That is true since a dog traveling with another person by auto for 1,400 miles is a long trip.

The dog took a nice vacation exploring Kansas. Getting him back was a great Christmas present.

In the cases where a dog leaves a home of their former owner to spend time with another owner which is usually by accident, the dog does enjoy a nice vacation.
