Jodhpur in Rajasthan is known for brilliant forts and royal houses. Mehrangarh Fort is one of the brilliant forts created at hill for defense of the state of Jodhpur. There is a lovely palanquin section. The palanquins were used by the queens for travelling between one palace to the other. There are information engraved on the walls for the education of the visitors.

I like places that have information panels that help you understand what you're looking at.

thanks Judy the great thing is the royal forts of Rajasthan are adopted by Archaeological Survey of India and given the status of protected monuments. they are converted into museums and travellers pay for entry into the forts. the money is used for maintenance of the forts

thanks Jojo she was a visitor from Italy. We bought the museum tickets of Mehrangarh together. So she visited the palanquins along with my family. Foreigners flock a lot to Rajasthan. There is a famous train called Palace on wheels which travel to all destinations of Rajasthan like Jaipur, Jodhpur, Udaipur, etc and connect New Delhi
