COVID Comes Back to China/

China is again in the news and this time it is not about its obsession with Tawan but the Covid virus. China as we know had adopted a 'zero tolerance' policy for the COVID wave. There were a lot of protests at the restrictions enforced and the net result was that the Chinee government became a little lenient but it appears to have had a disastrous effect. As per reports, the virus has spread in China like lightning and millions are affected.. One of the reasons for this is the complete ineffectiveness of the Chinese vaccine which is a dud.. China does not want to admit this and in the bargain, no vaccines are imported and the virus has spread. As per reports, the hospitals are jam-packed, and with an ineffective vaccine, the situation is very bad. There are also long queues for cremating the dead and people are wondering what is going to happen. Is this spreading virus a failure of the Chinese system of government? Let people think about it. In the meantie other countries must be on guard.

Yes, there may be new variants coming out again. The symptoms of my nephew and his wife are pretty serious - fever, severe sore throat, continuous coughing and loss of sense of taste.

Yes, the situation in China has become a global concern. The virus is spreading quickly. My nephew and his wife working in China also got infected a few days ago. They said everyone around them was infected.

@cacay1 They took medicines prescribed by a doctor in a private clinic for expatriates. I'm glad that they are recovering well now.

To be fair to them, they provided my first vaccine, and I think it did a good job protecting us since when we had covid again after the first time, it wasn't as awful. Although we had taken care to ensure that our second dose of the vaccine was different from the first. Just the thought of this happening in China again makes me sad. They were the first to declare they were clear of the virus and that the pandemic had ended, as far back as I can remember. However, it appears that the infection has returned and they were unprepared to deal with it.

@madan02 I believe that each person's response to the vaccine depends largely on them. Since my father got sick but quickly recovered, me, my wife, and my father have all received it, and so far it has responded wonderfully. But we all took steps to ensure that the second dose was no longer coming from China.
