How About Some Fun Info About Dolly Parton / myLot

We all love Dolly, right? Dolly Parton that is. I thought it would be fun to find some interesting stats about this woman to share. So, here goes: * Dolly has composed over 5,000 songs in her nearly seven decades in the business. Not all of those has she produced herself. * Some of the performers who have released her songs are Merle Haggard, Kenny Rogers, and Hank Williams, Jr. * She has produced 956 songs herself but 1,100 were remixes, studio recordings, and live tracks are included. * Dolly is a 10-time GRAMMY winner. She has also been nominated at least once in all four categories of entertainment: Tony, Oscar, GRAMMY, and Emmy. * Dolly's birth delivery was paid for with a bag of corn meal in Little Pigeon River in Pittman Center, Tennessee. I have two Dolly songs (“Coat of Many Colors” and “My Blue Tears”) on my 100 favorites list. I love her generous, giving spirit. She has arranged for free college tuition for all her Dollywood employees. When the area was hit by that terrible wildfire in 2016 she paid every employee $1,000 a month while they recovered, PLUS donated untold amounts to the general area recovery. She also donated a million dollars to covid vaccine research. What a wonderful lady on top of all of that talent!!!

Yes, she is a dear human being. I would love to meet her and feel her energy firsthand. I bet with your love of music it's hard to have just a 100 favorites list. She also donated a lot of money when there was that big fire down that way.

@celticeagle — my late, lamented friend who put me up to making the list gave the stipulation that the list had to include ONLY songs that made the Billboard charts. That eliminated a lot of the album cuts that I use in my countdowns here.
