Yesterday's Children(2000) Movie Review

As what seems to be my MO nowadays I went on YouTube to find a movie to watch. I found this charmer and was so very touched by it I wanted to post about it in case anyone else might want to watch it. Yesterday's Children is the story of a 40-ish woman who lives in Pennsylvania with her husband and son. She begins having very real dreams, both day and night ones that get more and more intense until her work is affected. Her dreams are those of a poor Irish woman and her five children and abusive husband. She is so plagued by these dreams that she goes to a hypnotherapist and psychologist who helps her by discerning that these are memories of reincarnation, not dreams. She travels to Ireland to find the family. Jane Seymour plays Jenny Cockell and Mary Sutton. I love her work(Quinn, Medicine Woman and Somewhere In Time are two of my favorites of hers) ) Hume Cronyn(a wonderful character actor in Cacoon and many other films.) portrays Mary's eldest son, Sonny. It is on YouTube so any of you can watch it. You won't be sorry. It is a wonderful story and a true one at that.
