Going Out to Lunch Tomorrow for New Year's Eve

United States
December 30, 2022 10:01pm CST
My husband and I were thinking about going out to dinner for New Year's Eve. But there are only 2 restaurants near us that are a quick drive, and both of them are booked. We don't want to drive anywhere far away on New Year's Eve due to the possibility of drunk drivers so we aren't going to a restaurant at night. Instead, we are going out to lunch at one of our favorite restaurants in a nearby town. It's a nice drive on country roads and we can take the dog with us and eat on their enclosed porch. The dog loves to go places with us. I am going to bring along a bunch of books I have already read and haven't been able to sell on eBay. I am going to see if I can trade them for credit at a used bookstore in that town. Tomorrow night we will just eat a light dinner and go to bed to read until 11:45 pm. Then we will watch the ball drop in New York City at midnight on my husband's tablet. Are you doing anything exciting on New Year's Eve?

@marlina It is a long time that we go to sleep before midnight. Let's hope it rains, at least the Italians, the other side of the border, will keep quiet.

Have fun spending some quality time with your hubby. Yes, we will have our media noche with the family, serving, roasted beef, some fish dishes, rice fruit salad, rice cake, and other desserts. I have a sweet tongue, so I'm sure my palate would be fully satiated, especially since I will be spending new year's eve with my family. Happy New Year in advance,

Your New Year's Eve sounds perfect. We never celebrate, too many drunk drivers out there.

I am not likely to go anywhere. I think I will enjoy a bowl of nuts, watching some whodunit dramas. My kids however, are likely to do something with their friends.

Nothing exciting here, just our regular peaceful evenings.
