I Closed my Text Broker Account and it Felt SO Good

Every year my best friend and I write out our goals for the coming year and email them to each other. Throughout the year we ask each other how we are coming along in meeting our goals. In June we do an official check-in. All of this keeps us motivated to reach new heights both personally and professionally. Last year, one of my goals for 2022 was to open a Textbroker account again. I used to write for Textbroker and had a love/hate relationship with it. The subjects to write about were less than exciting and the pay was pretty bad. But I wanted to earn more money writing so I tried to log back in. I hadn't logged in for a while so they closed my account. I finally got up the motivation to go through the process of creating a new Textbroker account last summer. Whenever I tried to log in and find something to write about, there was nothing available at my level (level 3, so there are never as many opportunities as there would be for level 4 or 5). I am not a morning person and most of the topics available are listed in the mornings. It was annoying to me that after I went through all of the trouble to give another writing sample and get accepted for Textbroker, I hadn't been able to earn any money at it. So I decided for my emotional health, I needed to close that account rather than have it hanging over my head and have them close it on me again. It always feels better to be the person that does the breaking up, than the person who is broken up with, know what I mean?) So I just logged into text broker and closed my account. It felt wonderful. The good news is that while I was looking for other writing sites and revisited Textbroker, I discovered myLot and here I am. I like myLot very much and have met some great people here. And I enjoy it much more than Textbroker. Have you ever written for Text Broker or other writing sites besides myLot?

I am on Textbroker but like you have no luck with assignments and will probably close my account also. I write on here and enjoy my time with everyone here and I write on Vocal Media, have three blogs on WordPress, and pop in poems on All Poetry, Of course, besides myLot, the only other site that pays is Vocal Media.

@Kouponkaren Vocal Media is a site that motivates you to write and each article must be at least 600 words. You can try any subject plus fiction and poetry. However, having said that to earn well there you should join Vocal plus which is 9.99 a month and the number of reads you get determines your earnings so you do not cash out quickly but if the Vocal team really likes one of your articles they reward you right aways with $5 to your account. One way or another it keep me busy, I enjoy it, and I have cashed out three times during my time with them,

@RasmaSandra Oh good, I am glad I am not the only one that has trouble with Text Broker. I used to do fairly well with it when I initially joined. But it took a lot of motivation for me to write about furnaces and car designs, etc. I have never heard of Vocal Media. I will have to look it up. Do you recommend it?

@RasmaSandra Is it similar to HubPages? I like HubPages because I can also write about anything I want and no monthly fee. What is the payout amount for Vocal Media?

I believe I had years ago..but I quickly realized, it was not for me. Earning was so difficult. I used to write on eHow if you remember that. I did well on there with minimum effort.

@RebeccasFarm Now I don't remember eHow. Does it still exist or did it close up shop?

@RebeccasFarm Ha, another one that bit the dust I guess. I can't remember the name of the one that I used to write for besides Bubblews and HubPages but it had something to do with answering questions.

I am a member of Textbroker but am not active for the reasons you list. It was not really worth my time. At level 4, where I was briefly, the articles were more abundant and interesting. I bit off more than I could chew on one though and forcefully put myself back at 3. I have not been there in a few months.

Just mylot. And, compared to most, I'd say I like it the best. I've looked into other sites, but most of them require me to be near-perfect. I try my best, but I'm going to make mistakes, mostly grammar and spelling ones, but it's not for lack of trying. I put my best into it here, and don't get judged if my spelling or grammar is bad. The primary requirement for this site, is all users must type (or translate their text) into English. So, I know others that are worse than I am.

@Kouponkaren Apple is pretty good with auto-correct. And, I have improved when it comes to writing overall. But, I know I am a bad speller, and hear my MacBook correcting my spelling more often then not.

@CarolDM I am on HubPages and need to write more Hubs. I should just concentrate on that and myLot. Especially since I bid goodbye to Textbroker. I used to be on Bubblews too. That was a lot of fun while it lasted.
