Postman misplaced my parcel

2023 started with a mess and a bit of hassle...I had applied for my pension card & it was duly posted to me in early December. I didn't check the department then, and recently checked with them and they gave me a tracking ID of India Post. On punching the ID in India Post web portal, I was shocked to see the status as delivered!! and that too long back....
I rushed to my nearest Post Office to figure out the issue, & was told that the postman handed over the parcel to my building's security guard, while the guard denied receiving any such parcel
Clearly the postman is at fault, as he was suppose to hand over the parcel to me & not to any Tom-Dick-Harry...I've launched a complaint against his negligence, let's see what happens...

Did you remember to give the security guard a big Christmas gift so things don't "get lost" next time?

@Rimps85 Oh, okay...
I thought it was funny... I've heard you have to bribe security people in India or they won't do their job. Of course, I don't know if that's true or not, though.

@DaddyEvil its not bribe actually, but these petty jobbers expect that during Diwali some kind of bonus should be given to them, because he is being working throughout the year...more like tips...

Oh that is terrible.
I doubt whether you should go and file a FIR in this regard.
It could be that the guard misplaced the parcel and is not admitting doing that.
My prayers that your issue gets resolved at the earliest.

I know the cops don't easily entertain FIRs.
You would have to visit multiple times.
Or may be somehow get someone involved who knows folks among the cops.
Indeed it is a harsh world.

Who do you believe the postman or the security guard? We have been having trouble with our post too because of the strikes, hope you get yours sorted soon.

@Rimps85 Whenever I have to sign for something from a postman or other delivery company, they always hand me a small machine that looks like a mobile phone and I have to try to sign for the parcel on this contraption. I always manage to make some sort of mark but it never looks like my signature. However most delivery companies like to get a picture of the customer holding the parcel at their home . Maybe your postman should try to do this in future as it is more proof than something resembling a signature.

@lazydaizee Postman here aren't equipped with these gadgets...but private courier companies does that....however they have to get the parcel delivered by themselves to the addressee and get an acknowledgement sheet signed - that's the RULE, but this guy flouted it
