Pushing Through the plans despite rains all day

It rained the whole night and it continued the whole day. Some areas were reported flooded already and there were schools which suspended classes. I was at work this morning waiting for the confirmation from my friends if we would be pushing through with the plans of meeting up.
We had to meet halfway for the venue. The three of us come from different places. We had a short video chat and decided to push through with the plans despite the rain. Our friend will go back to US on Saturday and there was no chance of postponing it to another day.
We decided to meet at 11 in the morning, had lunch and coffee later. It was fun and we had lots of stories to tell. Time was so short and the weather didn't look good so we decided to part ways earlier to avoid traffic during the rush hour. It actually worsens when there is rain.
Bad weather cannot stop best friends to see each other!
It was a wonderful day!

I'm happy you got to see your friends despite the rain and am sure you all enjoyed the time spent together.

Some old classmates want to organize similar group meeting (reunion?) in two week time. The last time I met them was 5 decades ago or so. I have already warned them, that I won't go in case of bad weather or if one of my unwell relatives suddenly needs my help. (I admire you and your friends for your determination in meeting each other.

That's what friends are for. Anyway the weather was not really that dangerous so we pushed through

Bad weather can be a problem sometimes. It´s good that the weather did not prevent you form seeing friends
