One advantage of charity shops...

Apart from the obvious advantage of cost, one other thing I really like about charity shops is that you find unexpected things, and certainly in the case of clothes and shoes you may come across brands you would never have found otherwise. This shirt is one I happened upon recently, it looked (and indeed is) just the sort of quirky garment that would appeal to Big One (who is now old enough to wear adult sizes). If I hadn’t found this I would never have known that such clothes even existed as it’s a range called ‘Simply ART’ by Dolcezza, and seems to be produced by a company in California! Someone must have moved continents or brought it back from a holiday. Now that I have found out about it I have a name to look out for on eBay and other places, I have even found a ‘regular’ clothing supplier of the brand, so I can keep an eye out for more things she will like and in fact I might well like some too! I’m not a great follower of fashion so I basically know about High Street shops but not a lot else. In the past I have found other bargains that in turn have led me to find clothing and footwear brands I wouldn’t have known about otherwise. That gives me things to look for that I can be pretty sure I will like and will fit my feet or body shape. How do you find the brands you like? @fleura My wife loves clothes and usually dresses herself and our daughter from charity shops. She’s figured out now to which shops stylish rich people donate.

A good plan - stylish, rich, fashion-conscious people in your size is what you need!

@Fleura @xFiacre Garage/yard sales are popular here. I guess our good weather is one factor they're so popular. Our friend would go to those that were in wealthy suburbs and would pick up all sorts of stylish and expensive items. Maybe not so many clothes but sometimes there'd be clothes as well.

@Fleura It looks as if someone took scissors to it.

@BarBaraPrz It just looks odd because the photo has been squashed out of shape. Does it look better sideways?

I think it was £5; new price seems to be £87.

I wear my clothes until they fall apart. So I just look in my closet. I did get a lot of my mama’s clothes when she passed . We had similar taste.

I have a lot of my mother's clothes too, she had some lovely things! She was a little bit shorter than me so I couldn't keep any trousers, but I have lots of tops, skirts and jackets.

I don't look at the brand. I just buy what I like which is mostly jeans and t shirts

I don't pay much attention at all to brands. Maybe I should. As you say, it would help with knowing if something would fit or not.
